This lake is the major water body in Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park, located near St. Albert, half an hour’s drive from home. Due to the warm weather, there’s almost no snow on the lake. We walked on the frozen ice for about 10km total. The major advantage of waking up early is having more daylight time, especially in winter. Since St. Albert Place is only 3km away from our parking lot, we decided to give it a visit, after the 10km walk on Big Lake’s ice surface. The trail follows Sturgeon River and is well used. There is nothing special in St. Albert Place, because the town is so small.
